Morristown American Legion Auxiliary met on Monday, September 21st at 8:00 P.M. in the Legion. Preceding the meeting a chicken dinner was served by the Auxiliary to about 90 Legion, Auxiliary and SAL members who had their dues paid up Iny Underdahl called the meeting to order Draping of the charter was held for Gladys Ahlman and Elaine Moldenhauer who had passed away this summer. 18 members were present. Secretaries report was read and approved. Treasurer‘s report was read and filed for audit. . The Memorial Day Luncheon expense was $212.50 and profit was $347.50 and Dam Days Expense was $448.88 with a profit of $999.62. Communications were read including the 3rd District Bulletin, Thank you’s from April Meschke, Mercedes Morsching, WEM Middle School for the rolls furnished for Teacher Workshop and from the funeral of Elaine Moldenhaur A report from the Bloodmobile which the auxiliary hosted in June was that 43 registered and 37 pints collected. The Bloodmobile will return to Morristown next June. Virginia reported she had sent a card to Elaine when she was in the Nursing Home and flowers were sent for her funeral. 6 members attended her funeral. Everyone is encouraged to open communication to everyone and help let everyone know what is going on in the Legion and Auxiliary. The Auxiliary will be serving the Brunch in November along with a Bake Sale for the Carrying and Sharing Tree in Morristown. A motion was passed that we have our Soup and Sandwich luncheon in February this year. Donations for the year were discussed with a motion passed to donate the following: Hospitalized Vets ; Pheasants Forever Paralized Vets ; Special Olympics , $5.00 Dollar Bill Shower ; Servicemens Center ; Gift Shop ; District President Project for Hastings Veterans Hospital ; Department Presidents Project ; Forgotten Children ; Children & Youth ; Auxiliary Emergency Fund ; St. Peter Treatment Facility for Veterans (part of District Presidents project. Iny announced that there is a Fundraiser for the Legion - a Cookbook - they would like donations of recipes. A motion was passed to make the following changes to By-laws and General Rules - Article 2 Section 12 - add :Sing Star Spangled Banner for Opening procedures. Article 3 Section 3 Delete - “Minutes of Board meeting shall be read to the Unit at the meeting. Section 5: Add - To be a delegate attendance at meetings is required. It was announced that the Steak Fry’s will only be held during October and November only as attendance has been poor. Might try something else instead. Pork Chop/Fish Fry will continue. Lists for lunch serving and Pork Chop Fry were announced. Meeting adjourned.
